The PhD programme is designed to provide a suitable scientific and professional qualification within the European panorama for research in art history in all of its accepted meanings, with particular attention paid to the appreciation of artistic-cultural, territorial and environmental heritage. Tight Modern 2016: Call for artists As Nicholas Serota joins Arts Council England as it’s new chair, it good to see that Tight Modern has a shout out for marginalised and disabled artists. This year, Simon (age 8) is working through Sonlight’s Language Arts 3. I love the collection of readers included in this program. In addition, the critical, analytical, research and presentation skills that Art History students acquire as part of their education are transferable and sought after in other fields as well. This exhibition follows the Legion of Honor’s strong history of showing highly important moments in French Impressionism. Expect multi-disciplinary research findings – a handbook to support practice and future research – & challenging and liberating contemporary arts practice. The work of Socialiniai Meno Projektai continues to flourish, and as part of the exhibition of work by people affected by homelessness currently running in the National Art Gallery of Lithuania, a discreet arts project by Andrejaus Kibisovo is currently receiving rave reviews in national press and TV. This coverage of an artist who lives outside the system is quite exception.
The History and Theory of Architecture program explores the history, meaning and social significance of the built environment, and how it both reflects and shapes human circumstances, needs and aspirations. A Masters from the Department of the History of Art and Archaeology provides students with expertise in the History of Art and/or Archaeology of Asia, Africa and the Middle East. On Tuesday 11th October between 16:00 and 18:00 I’ll be facilitating a small event to explore Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and the Arts at the Manchester School of Art.
The Rich Mouse” is a hand-bound, limited letterpress edition of the nearly-lost short story by woodcut artist J. J. Lankes, accompanied by his woodcut illustrations and printed on his 1848 Hoe Washington iron handpress here at the Tampa Book Arts Studio.
