Inspire Arts & Music (IAM) is a not-for-profit organization whose programs seek to develop and ‘inspire’ young adults in both scholastic and non-scholastic fine arts activities. Having the SXSW Music Festival in Austin was beneficial for the music industry as well as the local musicians: the music business was curious about Austin’s live music scene and had a reason to visit the city, and the musicians, who are normally isolated from the rest of the country in the middle of Texas, get a chance to do business with the industry from the comfort of their own backyard.
Students must complete 192 points, of which 96 points are from the Bachelor of Arts (including all the requirements in Part A and B for the single degree) and 96 points from the Bachelor of Music (including all of the requirements in Part A, B and C for the single degree).
These three reports are Coming to Our Senses, by the Arts, Education and Americans Panal (1977), Can we Rescue the Arts for American Children, sponsored by the American Council for the Arts (1988), and the most respected study, Toward Civilization, by the National Endowment for the Arts (1988).
Gavin has opened shows for some of the most influential and respected names in the music industry (including DJ Premier, Pete Rock, Mos Def, Dwele, Jill Scott, Questlove, Robert Glasper, Dâm Funk, Busta Rhymes, Snoop Dogg, Julio Bashmore), and will bring his renowned passion for soulful music to MMVAF’s Ghetto Blaster.
Sound x Vision – Co-presented by the Hawaii Academy of Recording Artists (HARA), the 4th annual Sound x Vision featured a number of panel discussions with internationally renowned music composers who shared their compelling experiences and knowledge in the areas of film composition, marketing, and performance rights.
