A passion for issues of equity and social justice is a hallmark of HGSE and is shared by students in AIE, where we explore the particular ways in which the arts can help help address these issues. NAER and NCLC partnered to bring Arts & Wellness Day to 400 Newark high school students, through empowering arts and leadership workshops. The core AIE faculty consists of individuals with deep experience in both the research and practice of arts-based education. The Arts Education Partnership was established in 1995 and is supported by the U.S. Department of Education and the National Endowment for the Arts in cooperation with the Education Commission of the States.
