Art and Media Communications is a curriculum developed by the Texas Cultural Trust focused on teaching 9th grade students 21st century workforce skills in the creative media arts. An introduction to academic theater and media scholarship forming a critical foundation on which students can formulate opinions based on factual observation and argue various points of view relating to current production in theater, radio, television, digital communication and performance studies.
While acknowledging that face-to-face communication skills remain crucial in today’s job market, the MACS major also recognizes the central role of technology in career advancement and develops skills in the application of visual art and computer technology to the process of communication.
