Welcome to the School of Arts & Media, the largest School at the University with over 4000 creative students. UNSW Art & Design’s groundbreaking Media Arts program offers you hands-on experiences across a range of key media and audio-visual production areas including animation, VFX, interactive and cross media production and publication. Further, students learn to analyse and interpret artistic expressions with an enhanced view of how arts phenomena convey, negotiate, or hasten cultural change. Within this track you can choose to structure combinations of courses relating to two of these specialisations (such as Music Studies and Arts Politics and Education). The WSU Media Arts and Studies Film Blog will be updated regularly to help facilitate communication and promote interdepartmental events. Students learn about safe practices in the arts through making and responding safely in the different arts subjects.

The arts is a dynamic way of bringing people together to work in collaboration and learn new skills and knowledge. The Bachelor of Science in Technology, Arts and Media (BSTAM) offers a broad trans-disciplinary curriculum that integrates technological skills with a critical, theoretical and historical understanding of technology, media and the arts. At first sight this is pretty unrelated to Film and Media Studies, but it totally helped me with creative thinking. Admission to the Master’s Arts &Culture, programme Comparative Arts and Media Studies is possible with a Bachelor’s degree in art, film, television, digital media, or (visual) cultural studies. Art and Media Communications combines rigorous and relevant experiential study of modern, post-modern, and contemporary visual art and design with student learning in media literacy and technology applications. It also involves game audio and project management and uses tools like 3D Studio Max and 3D Modeling.
