The Indigenous Visual Arts Industry Support program helps fund the operations of around 80 Indigenous-owned art centres, and a number of art fairs, regional hubs and industry service organisations that are at the heart of Australia’s world-famous Indigenous visual art movement. OAC has established a funding program dedicated to Deaf artists and artists with disabilities The program supports the creation and production of new work, and professional development through grants of up to $10,000. Pro Helvetia supports aspiring artists primarily via partnerships with recognised institutions in Switzerland and abroad. In 2015-16, the Ontario Arts Council funded 1,676 individual artists and 1,125 organizations in 209 communities across Ontario for a total of $50.5 million. Joyce supports capacity and infrastructure building of small to mid-size arts organizations set in communities of color. The cultural centres present Swiss arts in international hubs of cultural life.

The purpose of the AFA’s Individual Artists Project Grant program is to support the development of individual Alberta artists, arts administrators or an ensemble of Alberta artists by providing a grant for a specific arts-related project. Our primary vehicle for nurturing creativity is the annual Joyce Awards program, which supports artists of color in creating new work in partnership with nonprofit organizations.
