The Department of Arts and Media at LSU Shreveport offers a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Digital Arts with courses ranging from photography to illustration to 2-D and 3-D animation. There are also a large number of choices in Bachelor of Arts undergraduate majors, including Literature, Linguistics, the combined Literature and Language Major, Journalism, Pacific Language Studies, Pacific Literature, Pacific Vernacular Language and Theatre Arts.
This master’s track suits students who have studied one of the arts disciplines (dance, music, theater, film, literature, performance art) or arts-related perspectives (media studies, cultural studies, art history, arts sociology, arts philosophy) in their Bachelor programme.
Through our #StageOpps and #ScreenOpps newsletters, we provide submission opportunities for all disciplines in Theatre and in Film/Video monthly, and through our Women in the Arts and Media Coalition Communal Calendar and Blog, we inform members of events of interest across the country about women, arts, and/or media, many with member discounts or available streamed online.
Depending on the option modules you choose in Years 2 and 3, you will have the option of beginning a top-up programme of study for a BA degree – either a BA Arts Management or a BA Media Management – which you can complete in either 1 year (full-time study) or 2 years (part-time study).
This pioneering cross-disciplinary international program offers the possibility to understand creative economy as a phenomenon that transgresses traditional economic thinking and to study management of creative processes through experimental projects.
