WHAT curates an art collection of over 560 works that is on display in every nook and cranny of University Hospital Waterford transforming the hospital building from a bare, sterile, institutional space to a more human place. The awards were supported by the Fellowship of Postgraduate Medicine and the Cardiovascular Research Trust. The £1000 NHS-related second prize was awarded to medical librarian Andy Jackson for a poem inspired both by volunteering for research and by Hancock’s ‘The Blood Donor’. The two assessments (presentation and portfolio) are designed to provide public platforms for the dissemination of rigorous practice-based research while maintaining an emphasis on high standards of professional performance making.arts and health
